Woven in Europe from high-quality hemp fibres, this elegant 200 gsm chambray combines olive green with natural white. The subtle interplay of colour gives the fabric depth and movement. As a result, it works beautifully in both contemporary fashion and timeless interiors.

Medium-weight and naturally breathable, Olivar is highly versatile. It is particularly suited to shirts, dresses, overshirts, lightweight jackets and relaxed tailoring. It can also be used for textile products and interior design projects.

The fabric offers a natural, fluid drape while retaining the structure associated with hemp. At the same time, it has the comfortable handle and breathability expected from a quality natural fibre.

Like the olive groves that inspired it, Olivar is made to endure. Hemp naturally helps regulate temperature and allows the skin to breathe. With use, the fabric becomes progressively softer and develops the distinctive character that authentic natural fibres are known for.

The Art of Its Making

Every metre of Olivar begins with naturally field-retted hemp. This traditional process allows harvested hemp to remain in contact with the ground. Moisture, sunlight and naturally occurring microorganisms then help gently separate the fibres from the stem.

Rather than relying on intensive chemical processing, this traditional method respects the fibre and helps preserve its natural character. It also maintains a closer relationship with traditional hemp processing methods.

The fibres are subsequently processed mechanically and woven in Europe. Modern textile techniques are used while preserving the integrity and character of the original fibre.

The result is a fabric that celebrates the natural beauty of hemp: authentic in appearance, refined in performance and made with respect for centuries of textile tradition.
