We have a team of designers on board with innovative and creative ideas to help with projects incorporating these fabulous natural textiles. These are not only beautiful textiles, but also have the best ecological credentials for a new sustainable world.

There is now significant demand and awareness of the benefits that hemp brings to the entire textile industry. In turn, the fabrics offer desirable characteristics and textures for a number of different industry sectors.

The life cycle of hemp from seed to finished material

European hemp

The hemp comes from a cooperative that combines the crops of small groups of farmers. These farmers produce their hemp crops in the most natural way possible with the best intentions for the environment.

All those involved in the cultivation and production of our fabrics are paid above industry average wages.

Our fabrics are manufactured using traditional weaving and fabric finishing techniques and, where supplementary chemicals are used to lighten a fabric, this has been done in accordance with OEKOTEX 100.

European hemp is different from hemp from India, China and Nepal as it has less processing, the fibres from which the fabric is made are longer, which makes European fabrics stronger and more durable.

Fabrics can also be dyed at the source using complementary dyes compatible with the colour of your choice, provided the minimum order size is reached.

Hemp fabrics can be safely washed at 30 – 40 degrees.

Although some still confuse hemp with its well-known cousin, marijuana, this ancient plant enjoys popularity as an Eco-alternative to conventional fabrics. Growing hemp is kinder to the planet than, for example, cotton, is hardy, adaptable and requires little water or chemical additives.

Hemp fibre has some unique and interesting characteristics, making it a suitable replacement for conventional fabrics. Historically, hemp was used to make rope and candles, items that harnessed the plant.

Using hemp is great for your skin, the environment and best of all for you!
